Okay, today we REALLY kicked our own asses, but it was very worth it. We ended up hiking the trail to St. Mary’s “Glacier” (it’s a permanent field of snow, not an actual glacier). I’m glad there was a nice payoff after climbing the rocky trail to the base of the “glacier” because this sign [...]

Another kind of slow day today. We had to do a few errands this morning and then I headed back up to Chipmunk Mountain (also known as Sapphire Point). Some weather was rolling in though, so I didn’t spend too much time there. Though I do think I spotted the bald eagle again, but he [...]

Today was a little slow, John had a couple rehearsals for the orchestra so I was left a few hours to kill on my own. I decided to drive around to some places immediately around Breckenridge. First I went off to Valley Brook Cemetary (a bit morbid, I know, but it was interesting).

This morning I listened to the brass quintet group that John’s a part of while working for the Breckenridge Music Festival which was very fun. We were moving a bit slow today after our “intense” hiking yesterday (we’re outta shape okay!) and decided that site seeing from the car would be more ideal than wandering around [...]

So, we’ve got cute rodents covered; spotted this prairie dog in town early today…

So, we got up very early this morning and headed back to Chipmunk Mountain the hopes that maybe we’d see more wildlife (like an eagle!) in the early hours, and if not… CHIPMUNKS! We got a lot of cute chipmunk photos now and unfortunately nothing cool flew past us, but it was a very good [...]

So, today we slept in a bit, (after getting up so early yesterday I know I needed it). Also, the altitude is making me a bit sleepier than I might normally be with the thinner air and all.

Got into Colorado today for my first day of vacation and it was an awesome first day! My boyfriend and I took our time getting from the Denver airport to Breckenridge.
